Employing in excess of 500 and operating 24/7 it manufactures a broad product range involving short runs, complex bespoke elements and multi-stage processes with significant demands on OEE. It has had significant capital investment in recent times and it provides a ‘right first time’ JIT fast turnaround service to a demanding customer base. The role embraces a broad range of responsibilities including HS & E, quality, engineering and IR in addition to site leadership. There is a significant opportunity to improve profitability through the introduction of lean techniques and autonomy will be offered to impact on the business.
Candidates need to be graduate qualified engineers with a deep understanding of lean and real experience in leading culture change programmes. Trained in a large scale world class manufacturing group you will be ready to lead and develop a total plant operation and will relish the challenge of making a real difference through a highly experienced skilled and knowledgeable team. You will need to have worked in a unionised environment and have the ability to make it to Board level in the short term. The client has an open receptive and pragmatic management culture and this is an excellent time to be joining them. Initially there will be some flexibility on location with the option for the successful candidate to commute on a weekly basis during the initial period of the appointment.
