The client is a subsidiary of an international group operating from one site with a turnover of c£50m and employing c350. It manufactures a broad product range on a batch production basis involving complex bespoke design elements and a wide variety of materials. It has an excellent reputation for the quality of its products, innovation, design and client solutions and it has deep-rooted values based on customer service and pride in its workforce.

Working closely with an established board, you will lead all operational elements including manufacturing, logistics, production planning, quality, maintenance, production engineering and procurement. The key challenge is to take this existing successful operation to higher levels through the further development of manufacturing processes using world-class techniques. You will ensure consistent progress in productivity and efficiency without compromising on quality and product performance whilst at the same time improving turnaround and minimizing waste.

Successful candidates are likely to be graduate qualified, probably engineering based, with a proven track record in a high level senior operational role working in a world class environment where the use of lean techniques have been embedded in the company culture. You will be comfortable working with a highly skilled workforce working on a shift pattern and in a company which has a pragmatic and professional culture with open communications and a deep respect for colleagues.
