The client is a leading multi site specialist business which provides a broad range of recycling and waste management services to local authorities, residents and businesses throughout Yorkshire and North East England and is looking through this appointment to recruit a high calibre individual to join their senior team with a view to achieving Board level responsibility within 2 years.
Reporting to the Managing Director this is a broad ranging role spanning a wide range of issues and challenges including commercial tendering, the commercial trading of recoverable and recycled products the development of their customer service offering and business improvement and efficiency initiatives. Additionally you will be involved in projects relating to potential acquisitions and developing best practice in procurement. A high calibre individual with a good first degree and probably also an MBA or professional qualification is required. You will have developed your career in a business to business service provision environment which has a significant cost base and a large pool of resources at its disposal.
Your experience should embrace many disciplines including new business tendering, commercial broking, market analysis, business evaluation, marketing and business development including involvement with potential target acquisition companies. You will also need excellent communication skills and have the ability to make cogent recommendations and proposals to the Board combined with the ability to deliver on these recommendations. With regard to sector experience to some extent the client is open minded although experience in the broad areas of waste management or environmental products or services is advantageous. You will have been trained in a large group, be comfortable in a company with growth ambitions and worked in an environment with world-class customer experience credentials.
