The Director of Regulatory Affairs reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has responsibility for the development and implementation of a cohesive regulatory policy across Europe. The role focuses on the key areas of safety, the environment, airport operational access and border control and security. The successful candidate will maintain and develop the excellent relationships already established with European governmental regulatory bodies and agencies, as well as with influential members of government and business aviation associations, regarding the review and approval of regulatory applications and the shaping of the future framework for business aviation.
Candidates will be high-calibre graduates who already possess a detailed working knowledge of regulations related to business or commercial aviation across Europe. They will currently be working in a similar role, or as the designated deputy, within a commercial airline or leading business aviation company and must be outstanding communicators with excellent interpersonal skills. They will also be able to demonstrate their ability to influence and lead governmental and regulatory negotiations at the highest levels, and will already possess an excellent contact network within this specialist field. The role will require significant international travel, particularly to Belgium, France, Germany and the company’s operational base in Portugal, and thus commercial fluency in a second European language will be a distinct advantage.
