The Department of Economics, which has a student population of over 800, is a vibrant and internationally acclaimed unit which is renowned for its research excellence which impacts on both their quality of teaching and the significant contribution it makes to society. The requirement is for an internationally recognised scholar to lead the Department into a new decade of achievement, enhancing its research profile and identifying new opportunities for its development. This will include the management and direction of approximately 50 academics and a highly experienced support team.

You will provide effective strategic, academic and managerial leadership whilst building on existing strengths to ensure further success in research and learning, growth and performance. In addition to possessing a distinguished publications record, candidates, who will already hold a chair in their specialist discipline, must be able to direct and manage a high calibre group in the attainment of demanding and clearly defined goals.
