The client is a highly successful major player in the supply of quality frozen, chilled, fresh and ambient food to the UK catering industry. With revenues in excess of £2.4 billion it is renowned for its truly excellent products, superior service, outstanding sales performance and the delivery of exceptional business growth. With strong market potential and a desire for future expansion, they wish to strengthen their corporate division leadership team with this important strategic appointment.

With a turnover of circa £750m the Corporate Division represents a significant part of this Group. Reporting to the MD - Corporate, your brief will be both exciting and broad ranging and will involve P&L accountability, high profile client management, people/team leadership and category management. You will be responsible for the strategic direction and operation of your division and the development and implementation of strategies which will enhance sales margin and service delivery. Working cross-functionally (sales/telesales, operations, commercial, financial) you will build great relationships and, as customer needs become more sophisticated, your creative and innovative thinking will add value to the mid/long term strategic picture.

We are looking for a genuinely special individual, with an outstanding pedigree in enhancing revenue and profit performance. Of graduate calibre, you are likely to be an experienced Sales Director/General Manager or Business Unit Director with headroom for future career growth. You will have operated with leading companies in either a food/beverage/retail environment or alternatively, with a major 3PL or outsourcing provider. Candidates with strong capability from other relevant sectors (cleaning/hygiene, catering equipment, food packaging, paper) would also be welcomed. Your background will include a combination of sales expertise and achievement, along with a strong appreciation of how operational delivery affects the bottom line.

You will be a first class, high integrity individual with fantastic leadership, communication and relationship building skills. You will be used to operating in an energetic, fast paced culture. Intellectually strong, and with a sharp and astute business mind, your analytical and numerical acumen will be second to none. Above all you will possess the presence, personality and stature to win the hearts and minds of customers and colleagues alike.
